TheSpa
Heat, water and nothing in the diary. The spa sits within the old walled garden, a short walk through the pines from the clubhouse.
It was built to restore golfers after a long round, and has become somewhere members come simply to switch off. Treatments use British products made from botanicals, and every therapist works with the club full time.
The Pool
A twenty-metre pool beneath a vaulted timber roof, with glass doors that fold back onto the garden in summer. Quiet lengths before breakfast, slower ones in the afternoon, and children are welcome on weekend mornings.
Heat and cold
A Finnish sauna lined in aspen, a eucalyptus steam room and a cold plunge drawn from the club's own borehole. Move between them at your own pace, then rest by the fire in the relaxation room.
Treatments
Massage for tired shoulders and backs, facials, and treatments designed around the golfing body, from deep tissue work to gentle recovery. Six treatment rooms, each opening onto a small private courtyard.
The Walled Garden
The old kitchen garden walls shelter loungers, an outdoor hot tub and a border of lavender that has outlived several head gardeners. In summer, lunch from the clubhouse can be brought down to you.
